◆ Payments help
Connect Stripe to VenueFuze
Stripe is the most flexible payment processor for selling tickets, accepting donations, and issuing refunds. This guide takes about five minutes — no developer experience needed.
You'll need: a Stripe account (free to create at stripe.com) and admin access to that account.
Sign in to Stripe
Open dashboard.stripe.com and sign in to your organization's Stripe account.
If you're testing first, click the Test mode toggle in the top-right of the Stripe dashboard. That's safer than wiring live keys while you're still trying things out.
Open the API keys page
In Stripe's left sidebar, click Developers, then API keys. Or jump there directly at dashboard.stripe.com/apikeys.
Copy your Publishable key
Under Standard keys, you'll see a row labeled Publishable key with a value that starts with
pk_live_ (or pk_test_ in test mode). Click the copy button next to it and paste it into the VenueFuze Publishable key field.Publishable keys are safe to share — they identify your account but can't move money on their own.
Reveal + copy your Secret key
Right below, find the row labeled Secret key. Click Reveal live key (or Reveal test key). Copy the value that appears — it starts with
sk_live_ or sk_test_. Paste it into the VenueFuze Secret key field.Treat your secret key like a password. Never email it, share it in a chat, or paste it anywhere outside the VenueFuze payments page. If it ever leaks, click Roll key in Stripe to immediately invalidate it.
(Recommended) Set up the webhook
Webhooks let Stripe tell VenueFuze when an order is paid, refunded, or fails. Without them, refunds + receipts will still work, but the VenueFuze dashboard might lag behind Stripe by a few minutes.
- In Stripe, go to Developers → Webhooks or open dashboard.stripe.com/webhooks.
- Click + Add endpoint.
- Endpoint URL:
https://venuefuze.com/api/stripe/webhook - Events to send: pick checkout.session.completed, payment_intent.succeeded, and charge.refunded.
- After creating the endpoint, click it open and copy the Signing secret — it starts with
whsec_. Paste it into the VenueFuze Webhook signing secret field.
Save in VenueFuze
Back in VenueFuze, pick the correct Mode (Test or Live) matching the keys you copied, then click Save Stripe keys.
You can save Test keys and Live keys separately. VenueFuze applies the live keys to real-money checkout and the test keys when you set an event to test mode.
Place a test order
Open one of your draft events, set it to PUBLISHED in test mode, and run through the checkout flow using Stripe's test card:
Card: 4242 4242 4242 4242 Exp: any future date CVC: any 3 digits ZIP: any 5 digitsIf the order shows in Orders, you're fully connected.
